Rock problem

Hi guys.

Filled my 50 g tank about a week ago brand new. Added live rock and caribsea live sand. Salinity is 0.125 and temp 78. Got the salt water from local dealer ready made ro/di

I have one actinic blue and one marine White bulb. Have no fish etc as have onk just started the cycling process

My live rock is turning White at the tops and sides and I don't know why. Help!

You should recheck your salinity reading because either your salinity is super off or you are reading it wrong.

Also exposing your live rock to air will cause it to become white, but it will come back over times.

And now is the perfect time to start the cycling process, drop in your table shrimp!

I have just been searching the net and ?apparently live rock does undergo some die off and bleach during the cycle process?

And sorry i meant 1.025

Do I have to drop a shrimp in? Man in the shop said the live rock will do all the work to kicstart cycling?

i would still. If you bought all live rock then you should have a quick cycle either way
