RODI Plumbing Question:

OK, I'm the plumbing idiot so I need help.

I've got a RODI unit hooked up. I want to make it such that I don't have to keep turning it off and on. I got one of these:

and hooked it to a bucket but my water just sprays out of it when the thing is supposed to shut off, like I've got too much pressure backed up in the line and it won't stop no matter how I seem to fiddle with it. How can I make my RODI fill a bucket and turn off when it is full?

thanx for any help!

I know that there is typically an extra piece that is sort of like an auto shut off that is made to work with float switches like that. It shuts off the flow when ever there is any back pressure in the system but I can't recall the name of that piece... Hopefully someone will chime in with that
