Sarcophyton Toadstool

Can you place Sarcophyton Toadstool almost like in the sand? it says it needs moderate to high lighting i am just wondering if it can be placed on the bottom though where there is not too much movement.

i would place it on a rock in the sand, not directly on the sand.

mine really like the sand but he spun around in a circle for couple hours til he settled down
