skimmer questions help

i just picked up a hob. skimmer:bounce: and had a couple questions

1 how often do i run the skimmer 24-7?

2. how should i set up the colection cup? so the foam just hits the top or so it bubbles in ect?

any help will be appreciated:bowdown:

ps. i have the reef octopus 300 hob.

I run my skimmer 24-7 as do most people on here(i think).
You will have to watch the skimmer if it is brand new. They will need to "break in and might need ajusting. I set mine to just hit the bottom of the skimmer cup. Maybe a little higher

i have everything plugged in to a power strip (besides lights) that i turn off when i feed so there is no current, but otherwise i also run it 24/7
