Slip vs. Threaded Bulkheads

Which would you go with? I was gone on an internship for 7 months so I teared my tank down and I had slip connection (on the outside I mean) bulkhead fittings so basically they are gone now because I had to cut the pipe. I am restarting it now and wondering if threaded would be better?

I use threaded with plumbers tape, no problems (touch wood)

Can't go wrong with threaded. I'd be nervous about about slip fittings, personally.

Yeah that's what I thought about, they could possibly slip out while threaded won't.

I use threaded but I'm sure slip is fine if you use a good PVC primer and cement.

The only thing I've been weary about when using PVC cement is the fact that it melts away at ABS plastic, I mean it worked but it kind of made me a little paranoid.
