Snail?

I have these snails in my tank that are releasing a milky substance into the water. Is this ok or will it cause problems? These snails have flat shells that are purpleish in color and look somewhat like fingernails.

Those are stomatellas. They are fine. Reef safe, good scavengers. I don't know what the milky substance is, but the snails themselves are good to have.

I agree with Biff,Stomatella snails are great algae grazers.They might be reproducing,which would be a good thing.

I would guess there reproducing too.
I've seen my turbos doing that here lately.

I had a snail in my 10 gallon tank I bought at walmart. He, too, released a slimy milky substance.

No worries they are spawning. This is a good thing :) makes you think of Marco's surprise! :)
