Snails in sump?

I have tried twice to introduce snails to my sump. Both times, they have died. Any idea as to why? The do great in my DT and I'm pretty sure there is enough for them to eat in there. Judging from the stuff on the glass down there!

It's on an opposite light schedule, and they aren't getting sucked up into anything. Just wondering what could be wrong.

Thanks for the link! I knew I had seen it somewhere.

I picked up a voltmeter and will check it out in a bit. I did talk to a fellow at the LFS about it. He seems to feel that its not a voltage issue. More like something in the sump like cyano or possibly a low O2 level or maybe even a temp issue. I'll let you know what I come up with.
