My circulation pump went out on a full 33 gallon reserve tub about 5-6 days ago. Its saltwater and had a strange smell to it so I discarded it. My question is how long do you think water could sit before you toss it? Also, if you were to throw a pump back in it would it be okay after a bit of recirculation?

I kept my water (without circulation) in a closed tub for a couple weeks before. If it smells funny, then throw it out, but if it still smells fresh and you don't see algae or slime forming in it, then I think it's okay.
