Starfish?

I just put live rock in my tank and I found this little thing. It was just stuck to the glass. It moved onto my powerhead and has stayed there all day.

+1 mr sniffles and dcan...you should take it out, they tend to eat zoas and polyps, and multiply quickly. From the looks of the pic, it has potentially 6 legs, which is the more aggressive one than the 5 legged one.

It looks like an asterina to me too Tucson.Personally,I found them to be harmless.

What else could it be besides an asterina star? When I search them I don't find anything that looks just like that. I'm going to leave it in until I found out for sure though.

Yeah, this. And it's just...weird shaped. Like the pattern is weird. It's doesn't even remotely resemble the shape of a star.

At least my asterinas are pretty. :D

hahaha. I just found two little brittle stars when I moved my powerhead to face the rock directly. Should I run my powerfilter now or should I wait until the algae and everything has gotten started?

Oh run all your filters during the cycle process. It keeps everything on an even keel
