starting to set up sump

My display tank is cycled and I feel confident to start getting the sump ready to go. I have a 30g tank that is divided into 3 sections.

The first section will be where the overflow drops the water into the sump and will also contain the skimmer.
The second section will be the refugium with live rock rubble and chaeto.
The third section is for the return pump.

Does this seem to be a good setup? How much rubble will I need for the fuge? Are there any plants that are beneficial that stay small (less than 6") I can grow in the fuge? I like the idea of plants growing but I've only seen mangroves and they get too big for my space.

Chaeto is a great macro algae to grow in your fuge.

Any input on how much rubble in my sump? About 1/4 or half full?

Does anybody know of somewhere there are examples of people's refugiums? I looked through a bunch of the tank subforum but it was a lot to sift through for such a specific part of the tank. (Although I did enjoy seeing other people's tanks)
