Stupidity revealed-need help!!

I am going to have to just reveal my lack of common sense and ask this question...

I am trying to catch a mean dottyback and am using the two liter bottle method. What bait can you put in the bottle that doesn't just float back out into the tank, thereby just feeding the fish and leaving a plastic bottle in the tank to baffle the fish? Is there a method to try that keeps the bait in the bottle? Help! I'm trying everything NOT to have to take my live rock out! Thanks!

just put any food in there and let it get caught at the top over the opening

You'll need to stay close and keep your net handy.Once the fish enters the trap,get the net over the door before you try to remove the trap from the tank.
