Sump confusion

Hi!

So I've been doing research on DIY sumps and I've come to the conclusion...I'm not handy or mechanically inclined. That being said...I need some help =)

I've been trying to find cheap ways to do it without having to cut into my new 50gal, is that possible? Would anyone be able to link to me an easy to follow guide to sump building? If not...I guess I can just use a HoB skimmer

You shouldn't have to cut into your tank to make a sump. if you want a sump use a HOB overflow.
