Feb 4, 2010 #2 Smitty Reef pro You can place the heater in the same compartment with the skimmer, inside the sump...and I believe that a 300watt heater should do well for you.

Feb 4, 2010 #3 Reefrookie Not so new anymore! +1 on the location Smitty, but I would put in 2 smaller heaters. That way you have a back up plan if one fails. Maybe 2 150 watts or 2 200 watts

Feb 4, 2010 #4 SeaBee Ha Ha Thats Funny! Buy the titanium heaters, very good and accurate. Don't skimp on the heater price, I did, and I ended up with two the hard way.
