Reefing newb
I have been running my system for a while and I am getting a lot of air sucked in through the over flow. If I want to make a complete siphon then I have to close both the valves to almost 80%. Is that okay?

I have mine @ 30% closed. You can make a stand pipe to muffle the gurping sound. Youtube cpr overflows, a guy from the east coast will explain how to build one. It really does work. You can also add a 1 way valve in 1/2 way down your return to allow air in but not let water out, this too will work. Good luck
