toothbrush?

has anyone taken a toothbrush to their rock inside the tank? I want to get rid of that bristley algae, but I can't take my rock out cause there are corals stuck to it, and I don't want to tear it apart anyways. I'm worried about scrubbing inside the tank cause that might just cause it to spread

I wouldnt scrub any algae off in the tank.Thats a sure fired way to spread it.
How ever I have used a brush in the tank to spread coralline.

Very carefully.

I used a short piece of airline tubing to clean algae off the rock I couldnt take out of the tank.Just start a siphon with the tube and stick it into the algae.Pinch the end and pull the algea loose and let the siphon do the rest.
If your not doing a water change, just let the water run through some mechanical filter media and pour it back into the tank minus the algae.

This stuff is tough, I can't pull it off with my fingers or tweezers. Pliers maybe, but not sure I want to go sticking those in my tank! lol

Try making a paste with some kalk and smearing it on the algae.I dont that it'll work, but its worth a shot.
