tunicate.... maybe?

So, my Mom's torch coral has got a weird growth at a juncture between two branches of the torch. It first appeared white, as shown in the photo. Now it's got little black dots along the ridged part, and the opening is striped white and red.

Anyone know what this is? It doesn't seem to bother the torch.... but it really creeps my mom out. I'm hoping an ID will help her deal with the mysterious little thing.

Looks like a sponge of some sort.

sponges don't have structures... they're just a big sieve. This thing is developing weird ridged bits, and has a central "mouth" opening....

Looks like it's got a weird starfish looking arm growing out of it. I don't think it's a tunicate or sponge. Better keep a close eye on it. Especially at night. While you sleep. :death:

It almost looks like a worm try taking tweezers and pulling it off. Only if it is on the outside if its inside the coral idk
