Variable PH?

So i FINALLY hooked up my PH monitor to my Reefkeeper Lite two days ago and I noticed that during the day the PH is as high as 8.2 and right now with the daylight lights off i noticed it is reading 7.66.

Is this normal?
The monitor is in my sump in the return section.

Of course I did the whole calibration thing and double checked it when installing it.

If I recall, Ph tends to drop at night because the algea isnt photosythesising:question: any more and the fish are still using up the oxygen.

So the CO2 is making the water more acidic.

If you have a fuge, try running the light on an opposite cycle as the main tank.

Thats fairly normal for the PH to do that.
Mine will drop off to 8.1-8.2 at night.Usually 8.4 to 8.5 durning the day.

The high side looks good Dennis. But it is dropping off pretty good at night.
Whats your alkalinity and what are you using to supplement it?
