i just notice that the return line that goes back to the tank..the water is real slow coming out of the 2 pipes? its a little giant pump i used to have more water flow than it is know any suggestions?

Dirty pump. Clean it. OR a cracked outlet where water is not all directed into the return line ( if the pump is in the sump).
I have had two Quiet One pumps in which the outlet housing developed a crack, thus reducing the water flow.

it is external but before it goes to the tank i have a ocean clear cannister that i put my carbon and phosphate bags in. i was thinking that maybe the bags could be the problem but i have always put them in there.so cleaning it means pulling the front housing off and clean the impeller right?

okay it was the phoshate bags where sucked to the bottom and they are only 2 weeks old and one of them is really green?

If its really green, you may need to change the media out.
