water is stinking after adding coral..

I added 2 gorgonians, 4 very very small spotted mushrooms, fungia plate, leather toadstool and a pink tip elegance this morning , they look very happy and the water tested fine (nitrates a little high but controllable) .. all of sudden tonight when the acintics came on the water started to smell real bad , not a rotten egg smell but just a stink... water still tests fine and everything seems fine.. what can be causing this?

done a 25 gallon water change yesterday.

The water change could have stired something up. High nitrates usually means something is decaying in the tank which could cause it to stink.

How often and what do you feed? Do the fish eat everything that goes in the tank or is there food that settles behind something and begins to rot?

Keep an eye on everything and make sure it is still healthy

Run some Carbon; that will help with the smell.

Add carbon --a lot! I recently had a stench. I cut back some rotting chaeto, added a carbon --problem gone.
