how many of you have a wave maker?? does it make a differance or are the koralia power heads fine???

the koralias are fine, but if you have the money to spend then get a wavemaker

you should be able to aim them towards the surface of the water opposing each other and get decently random flow.

I just put in a JBJ dual wavemaker and for now, only have a rio 2600 plugged in. It makes a huge difference, just having that thing starting and stopping every 60 seconds, cleans all the corals off. Before, I was having to turkey-baster most of my montis, today I have no basting to do at all! Well worth the $60 IMO. I'll find another powerhead to plug into the other outlet and have it aimed the opposite direction, to get a back and forth motion going. I just don't have the big bucks right now for the cool stuff like the Koralia wavemaker or vortechs... :(

It is in my opinion more dependent on what corals you are keeping, some like a more randon flow, some just like flow.
Either can be made to work, it just takes patience to see what angles and directions work best
