i got this for $15.00 from a guy who could not use it because he could not get it in his cabinet. i have some questions about the operation of the skimmer. i know it needs a motor of some kind but i do not know what type it is. hoping you pro's will know. here are some pics. also is the overflow ok to use with all the missing teeth?

I dont know about the sump but you want to make sure that you place the overflow where the spot with the teeth are blocked off so nothing can go into it.

I'd replace the overflow box.That way you wont have to worry about fish getting into it.
Looks like all you need for that skimmer is a pump and an airi intake.
Is there a brand name anywhere on the wet/dry?

You will need a needlwheel style pump to make the skimmer work.
I can't tell you the brand of the sump you have there, or if the skimmer will actually work, but here is a link to the pumps you can use :
