Reefing newb
Hi,

I have had my tank running now for about 2 weeks (keen to see life from the life rock)....and a few bits of life have shown up.

So i'm wondering if any one knows what they are? I have a put a couple of picture on here...

One picture is of a red spiky growth
The other is of a tube thing

If you have any idea then please let me know...

Thanks

Ben

The red clusters on the second picture are a type of foraminifera.
Their presence is usually taken as an indication that the water contains sufficient major and trace elements for calcification.

I'm not sure about the tube. Is it soft and sways with the water? or does it look calcified? (Do not touch with your bare hands - this goes for anything in a saltwater tank).
