What is this?

I'm not sure what this is, and I'm not sure if it's a result of the tank cycle, or if I should remove it. Thanks!

Looks like some sort of sponge. They usually grow in the dark between the rock work. It is safe to keep and will help filter the water.

Thanks BJ, I thought it was a sponge but it didn't look like that originally and now it's hanging off a little and blowing with the current

Well, this is more what it looked like originally, just a purplish color though

Also, since I'm asking anyway, any chance you guys know what this guy is?

Yeah,That was some kind of tunicate.You can see the mouth on the lower right hand side.

The 2nd pic is some kind of pod.

So I should remove it? I smelt it last night and it didn't smell bad just like seawater

The first looks like death.A remnant of something that was once alive.Remove or leave it,I don't think either would hurt anything.The thing on the glass is a nudibranch(sea slug) of some kind.It looks like it could be coral muncher,personally I would remove any I see.
