I need to get a new skimmer for in my sump but not sure what size to go with. I have the octopus hob 110 now but from what im reading that isnt big enough? Any suggestion of what to go with? I have a 90g tank and 30g sump. Thanks

A general rule is 2x the capacity of your tank. So look at something rated for a 180. You could get something rated for a 150 and probably be ok, depending on how much livestock you plan on having/have.

I was looking at octopus 160 but wasnt sure that would be big enough. Right now I have couple fish but would like to try some corals and more fish eventually.

I've had the Octo 160 in my sump/fuge (150 gallon tank w/ total volume of 175) for 10 months. I have a pretty hefty bioload with overfed fish. That skimmer is working great for me. I wouldn't change a thing. My nitrates are always zero but I do also have a small ball of Biffys Chaeto spinning in there. Maybe some of the higher end skimmers can handle what they say they can.

+1 on the 160, that should serve your demands very well. I have one on my 125 and works great!
