white hairy build up

hey i set up my new 29 gallon bowfront a month ago and my power heads and walls keep getting this white hair like build up on them i can get it off the walls fine but not the power heads . any ideas on how i could get rid of it indefinably or at least a way to get it off the power heads. thanks

yes i used tap water because i cant afford to do otherwise. i have like 12 red leg hermit crabs and two snails. if it is hair algae what can i do about it.

feed it and grow a tank full of green grass.... syke! buy ro water from the store or your LFS... otherwise you will feed the problem more. if you must use tap water, and the issue escalates, invest in a sea hare.

you can get it off the powerheads by soaking them in a vinegar and water solution and then scrubbing the powerhead
