They are active, colorful little fish, and really easy to keep. Good choice for a first fish! It will eat pretty much everything, but its diet is primarily herbivorous. Pick up some dried seaweed sheets from your LFS, Petco or Petsmart, and buy a set of those suction cup clips. Since you only have one fish, I'd rip off a small piece and see if it will eat it. It should also be eating algae off your rocks and glass. It will also eat meaty foods, like mysis. So pick up a pack of frozen mysis, thaw a cube out, and try feeding it a few pieces. They are not picky eaters and should take pretty much whatever you give it.
