check you LFS sometimes they have stuff people have traded in , if not Craiglist is always a good place

yeah our lfs doesn't buy used equipment or direct them to people that may want it, they want all the business and for people to buy their over priced equipment because they are a local business.

Craigslist around here are slim pickings :(

How about ebay? I've never checked it out for used equipment, just a suggestion. And you're covered by paypal there...
I know what you mean about Craigs' list. When there is something half way decent for a reef tank people still want a fortune for it.
