    Question about crawlies

Thanks for the link!! I didn't see my crawlies on there. They only seemed to be out for that one day, and now they're gone or hiding or something. Hmmm, go figure... Thanks for your help though, everyone. I appreciate it...

    Question about crawlies

I googled Spirorbis and the pic is showed were these little wormes that were all curled up, kinda like macaroni. The ones on my tank are the stretched out-type that look like the worms you get on your sidewalk after a heavy rain. They may be the same thing I guess. I did notice, earlier in...

    Question about crawlies

Hi everyone, I'm still rather new to the saltwater hobby so I'm posting this question here, I hope it's the right place!! Lately on my aquarium glass I've had what looks like little worms stuck to it. They're really small and well..wormy. I wonder if they're at at harmful or a sign...

Gone one day..two fish died..dunno why?

Curious..how much will distilled and/or R/O water affect algae growth? Or further algae growth?

Gone one day..two fish died..dunno why?

Nope, no bite mars, or signs of disease that I know of. I would say 'no' to seeing weird behavior, as well. I haven't added any copper or anything like that. Just the 'usual' stuff when I do my water changes..salt, and I added some aqua-plus as well, cause it's tap water. And my temp has...

Gone one day..two fish died..dunno why?

Hi everyone, I'm hoping with this post I can figure out what I did or didn't do that caused the death of two of my fish. I apoligize if this should be in another forum. Let me preface this by saying that I have been having an algae problem for the last month-and-a-half or so. The...

    Lots of brown algae everywhere

I hope I'm not hijacking this thread but..is the above advice also good for green algae too? Any other advice? Thanks and I'm sorry for interjecting myself. Take care all, K

    Adding a Picasso Trigger..perhaps?

Hi guys, As much as I wanted to go with the Picasso, I decided not to risk it. I chose the Niger Trigger instead. Although it's only been twenty minutes..all seems well. I'll continue to monitor. Thanks to everyone for the thoughts and advice..MUCH APPRECIATED!!! Take care...

    Adding a Picasso Trigger..perhaps?

Hey guys, I have to say, that when I first looked into keeping a saltwater tank, the Picasso was one of the ones I wanted. But..realistically with what I already have..I honestly don't want to chance it. Perhaps another aquarium, some other time... It's interesting that you mention...

    Adding a Picasso Trigger..perhaps?

Hey everyone, Just want to ask everyone's opinion on adding a Picasso Triggerfish to my tank. I currently have a Scarlett Clownfish, Valentini Puffer, and a Blue Damsel. Any forseeable problems? Water perameters are good, all seems well. I'm just slightly hesitant cause the Trigger is a...

    Fluval vs. Rena canister filters

Hi, Thanks for the reply, and the tip!!! Fortunately, my tank is 'fish-only.' And after 2 1/2 months..all is well. I'll be sure to remember once I start my 35ga reef tank to go with a protein skimmer. THANKS again!! :)

    Fluval vs. Rena canister filters

Hey everyone, Anyone have much experience with the Rena's? I've had fluval(and Aquaclear on the small tanks) my whole aquarium life but have had problems. My problems with Fluvals..I always had a rewally hard time priming them. I know, I know..read the instructions and follow them, and...

    Hello..eh!!!

p.s......I have been reading that a Lyretail Wrasse is best to add LAST to a tank, as he/she gets very aggressive towards any new additions. That being said..maybe I should reconsider him being my first. If that's the case..what would you guys recommend for the first couple of fish in a...

    Hello..eh!!!

At my LFS, the Wrasse is around the $30 mark. And The Emperor is around $100. Yeah, this tank will be fish-only. The 35ga tank will be my reef tank. I agree with your advice that it's probably good to wait a little bit to get an Emperor. I'm told they are pretty hardy but not as much as the...

    Hello..eh!!!

Hey, Thanks Biff!! It won't kill me to wait a little more, I agree. I've been patient this long so..what's a little more, right? Also..what are your opinions on The Lryetail Wrasse and Emperor Angel? When I first started researching fish for a saltwater tank, a Lyretail was on my...

    Hello..eh!!!

Hey guys, I think it's been a week?? About a week that I've had live-sand in the tank cycling. I added some live-rock earlier today. I took some water in for them to test at the LFS. Although he didn't give m specifics(I didn't ask), he said all the perameters were good. For my own...

    Hello..eh!!!

Hey everyone.. Just an update..I've got my live-sand in, and a little live-rock, as well. I checked my salinity, as well as my Kh, and my Ph. Everything looks good. As far as I know..I'm ready for some fish. Right now, I'm looking at an Emperor Angelfish and/or a Lyretail Wrasse. Any...

    Hello..eh!!!

Oh!! I figured the more live rock..the quicker the acclimation due to the organisms in it. That's why I figured if there were very little live rock it would take longer.
