12 Gallon FOWLR for My Dad

Okay, I've been doing water tests every few days now and I'm a little surprised by the results . . .

5/23 : Amm. .5 ppm ( did not test for Nitrites or Nitrates )
5/24 : Amm. .5 ppm ( did not test for Nitrites or Nitrates )
5/27 : Amm. 0 ppm ; Nitrites 0 ppm ; Nitrates 10 ppm
5/28 : Amm. 0 ppm ; Nitrites 0 ppm ; Nitrates 5 ppm

Is it possible my cycle is finishing already? Or can I expect another ammonia spike? How long should I wait with results like these to insure my cycle is complete?

If you bought your live rock cured, there is a good chance that your tank will cycle that quick, or there is a chance that it won't have to cycle at all. The only reason a FOWLR has to cycle is because of all of the little critters that died in transit cause an ammonia spike, and you have to wait for that spike to dissapate.

He actually doesn't know yet. It's a Father's Day gift.

I just read your post Yote ... after I added a few new editions.

Speaking of which:
