I just noticed that i have a fair amount of bubbles that are in the corners of the top of my tank , I don't use a protein skimmer ,maybe excess protein ?Or would it be because i use hob aquaclear's for flow meaning all downward flow . .All my sps and soft corals look good but just bubbles on the top of the tank.

Yep sounds like protein buildup, even if you used a protein skimmer, without your tank being surface skimmed you'd still get that build-up.

The protien build up on the surface can inhibit gas exchange. It would help if you could direct some flow up to ripple the surface. What do you have for filtration?
