That does indeed look like the size of a 12 gallon cube. And a poor sailfin tang too! Ugh. It's cruelty. Those poor fish have literally nowhere to go. It's awful. They won't live long.

Adding too much CUC at once can cause some of them to starve to death. Only add a little at a time, as needed.

Adding some rock into the filter is a good idea. If nothing else, it can provide some extra flow to your tank. It's handy to keep in case you have to run carbon or other media like ChemiPure once in a while.

You can get frozen foods at Petco and PetSmart for a decent price. Once you factor in shipping, I don't think you're getting that great of a deal ordering it online.

Everything looks normal in those pics. A little bit of white slimy build up is normal when you are making new water. I'm not sure what it is, but I've seen that with every tank I've had. And no harm has come of it.

The word cyanobacteria literally means blue-green. But the cyanobacteria that we see in our tanks is a dark red/purple color.

I used a CPR overflox box for years, with an Aqualifter pump. Never had to replace the pump. Maybe I got lucky!

Two 500 watt heaters are better than one 1,000 watt heater. :)

They are photosynthetic. They need light, but they will also eat meaty foods.

Sometimes white sponge will grow in between zoas polyps. But you shouldn't be able to blow off white sponge with a baster. RockStacker is right -- a picture will help.
