I would do a search on different kinds of pods and see if you can find a better picture. Most likely its harmless and will make good fish food but check out Cirolanids and make sure its not one of those.

Just to update on the little guy, the marks faded from sight about a day and half ago. I did catch him digging out a little cave under some rock for his home and that might have caused the marks. Thanks everyone for your help and ideas. :sfish:

Right now I only have 3 blue/green chromis and the firefish. It has been schooling with my chromis and I could see them pecking at it just like they peck at each other. I haven't witnessed it happen yet but I will keep an eye on them and see if they do.

Thanks for the fast replies, and sorry about the pics I need to get a better camera. It doesn't look like dust or sugar, the spots only seem to show up when hes in direct light at the top of the tank. I think I will just keep an eye on it for now and if they get larger or I notice any...

Yep, just like Bifferwine said drill a hole at the water line in the return pipe. Once you do that to test it kill the power going to the return pump and water should stop being drawn back into the return line once the hole breaks the water's surface.

With the current fish I have does anyone have opinion on how many more I would be able to add? I have heard its 1 inch of fish per 5 gallons of water but from what I'm seeing in a lot of tanks it seems to be more than that. Does it also depend on what type of fish you keep, or what area...

When I built the sump I didn't take to many pics until it was finished. Here is my 20 gal sump build. Reef Octopus NWB 150 Skimmer in the sump and cinder blocks now cleaned and covered.

Here are a few pics from start to present of my 55 gallon reef tank. Mock up with dry tanks and cinder blocks. Aqua Reef RO DI Reverse Osmosis water System CPR CS50 Overflow Box, Mag 5 pump, Aqua lifter and a ground so I don't get zapped. Sand and water added to the tank.
