Finally, getting my 75 gallon started

The marine bettas are in the same family as groupers and they are hunters. we got him so small and we heard that they are hit or miss about how agressive they are. it took him a long time to warm up to us, but once he got used to the tank after coming out of QT he comes out in the front of the...

Finally, getting my 75 gallon started

Yeah, it is that big. i was origionally looking at the skimmer that is one size smaller than this one from warner and it was going to be a little overkill. well, then this one was a demo model and they were wanting to clear out the warehouse so they were selling a few of them for very cheap. i...

Finally, getting my 75 gallon started

Well, a little update for everybody that's keeping score. we traded the koralias for one vortech MP40W and the flow from this thing is AWESOME. it's so strong that there is a visible undertow in the tank, we love it. the new skimmer is supposed to get here today so i'm going to try to get some...

Finally, getting my 75 gallon started

That piece of rock is bigger than it looks even. it was one of our 28 pounders. that point touching the substrait goes back into the rock work. that piece is about 13-15 inches long and makes a "T" about 6 or 8 inches wide. we got alot of great rock, if you're even up in ohio, from a local coral...

Finally, getting my 75 gallon started

well, i thought i finally better update this thing. we've rearranged some stuff since the last set of pictures. the only real additions have been a purple long tentacle anemone, a royal gramma, a marine betta, and a clam. i've also added a phospate reactor and upgraded to mag 7 return pump. i'll...

Finally, getting my 75 gallon started

Thanks for all the compliments. That is weird that we would have all the same zoas, great minds do think alike though. i have a few concerns about the acro and the monti. the guy we got them from keeps all his frags in a green house so they mostly get just sun with metal halides to supliment...

    Dealing with Phosphates?

How do most of you deal with phosphates in your tanks? reactors or sponges or ? i was looking into getting ride of our algea and thought that getting rid of some of the phosphates would help alot and just wanted to know the best way to do it for my 75. thanks guys
