    new thing

well I am not a kill it if you fear it kind of person.aiptasia have been prospering inreef tanks as long as there have been reef tanks. an aiptasia is not normaly a coral stinger, they can & often do move. they sting certain encroaching corals but not to the point of killing or deforming them...

    new thing

in my opinion it is not a vermatid snall. they live in a calcareous coiled tube that has a small straight section their tenticles are minute and usually not very easy to see. they send out a mucus string to trap food. usually they do not adhere their tubes in a place where they do not have free...

    new thing

it is a worm, the tenticles are its fishing rod (so to speak) and the mucous is the sticky string it sloughs off the tenticles to gather food and pull it back to it's body. they are harmless and a beneficial scavenger. it will reproduce and will not harm any other life form. not to worry about...

    Undulated Trigger water current

what you are using should be sufficent & even a bit much. sea creatures do not like forceful water, it is very stressful to always be batteling a current. he/she will go into higher current (that it will find) if it needs to. good luck with your new charge.

    Lowering Alkalinity

hi kilt, sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. in reef keeping the variables that can skew one or many things is always present. when a person says he/she has a problem with one aspect of parameters and all others are ok then this leads to the belief that the test kit is in error. if...

Should I glue down my mushroom?

shrooms go where they want to, when they want to. can you move JO JO instead? soft corals can not be glued, they can slough off the glue. biffer has a viable solution in that you will be able to glue the material it attaches to to a place of your choosing.

    Lowering Alkalinity

hi, it is hard to give a worthy answer without knowing facts. there are many reasons why your ph is high ( firstly a bad test kit). usually ph is on the lower end of 8.3 due to the production of acids generated from life forms in the tank. do not use any additive to lower ph except for RO or...

    sea hare

hi.bigploch firstly, if you make plans to pass the hare onto other aquarists with the same problem (making sure that acclimation is proper) then the point is mute. Hair algae will always take over a new tank, it is expected & it will over several weeks start to receed. the cycles are predictable...
