Update on the CBB...not good. I had to move about 50lbs of rock to get to it... waaaaay in the back in a cave. Stupidly, I stacked the rock so that the cave is still there...DOH! Another $30 down the drain. :(

Well, the CBB is still swimming around, but I haven't seen it pounce on any aiptasia yet. It also didn't seem all that interested in the cyclopeeze I fed the tank either. I really hope this one makes it! :(

could be, but I haven't ever seen those little blue legs be aggressive towards snails. If he was trying something he got pwned (man...i hate that saying).

Here is a funny pic I got tonight while acclimating the CBB. Its a Turbo snail trying to use a hermit crab to flip it self over. Unfortunately, the crab didn't have the weight to flip over either. Can you say stalemate?

just take a blunt object and beat the hell out of it. Any chunks that are left will dissolve when you mix it. As far as measuring it, salt cannot be measured very accurately by volume any way, so never rely on a measuring cup. Always check the NSW with a refractometer or other accurate device.

The problem I see is that you will be dosing a high calcium liquid with out the alkalinty to balance it. You might have precipitaition if the calium gets too high. Kalk is more balanced system of calcium and alkalinity so you have less risk of precipitate. Here is a calculator that you can...
