thanks for the info. i added 15 pounds of live rock last sunday, so i am just letting the tank cycle for a few weeks before adding fish. i will probably get a small fish and see if it survives and then after a few weeks get the pair of clowns.

i am almost ready to put some fish in my 20 gallon tank. can anyone make some recomendations on amount of fish i should put in? I was thinking maybe 3 at most, probably 2 clownfish and another small one. will it be okay if i puts some hermit crabs and shrimps as well?

Good to know, thanks for the advice! I also just had a thought, i could turn off the filter before i change the inserts, so not as much salt dumps back on the coral.

Hi, i have a hanging filter and everytime i go to change the insert, a big cloud of salt goes into the tank. i am getting ready to put the live rock in and was wondering will this kill the fish when i eventually put them in the tank. thanks!
