    Snails without shells?

No, there were 3 distinct puffs of "smoke" in 3 separate locations all around the same time. There's at least 3 in the tank for sure.

    Snails without shells?

Yup, those be them. Not harmful I assume? I wonder if more will pop up now that there was a snail orgy in my tank this morning...

    Snails without shells?

Ok, so I tried photographing this but everything came out blurry or you couldn't actually see what I'm pointing out so let me describe it: So I put in a Sailfin Tang into my tank and my Domino Damsel started harassing it so I wanted to catch it and put it down in the refugium. Well I couldn't...

    Help with overflow filter!

Well there's my answer. One of my stupid ass hermit crabs decided to go on the adventure of a lifetime and climb all the way up the overflow box, over to the suction pipe, and somehow climb down into it, thus clogging it with his stupid shell. Ugh...

    Help with overflow filter!

The holes were always there and unplugged. There is a siphon, it's just not as strong as before for some ungodly reason...

    Help with overflow filter!

So I'm not actually new to reefing... but I saw this was the largest viewed forum so I threw it in here. Let me preface by saying this setup has beenfine since I set it up in January... all I did was clean off some caluerpa forming near the pipe this morning. As you can see from the pic I...

    Samantha's 50 Gallon Reef Aquarium

I should have done my acrylic dividers for my refugium like you did... I did them wider and only used 2 inserts but I added sponge filter media between the flow of water from chamber 1 to 2 and 2 to 3.

I just want to say to everyone who lives in Florida, screw you guys! I was visiting parents in Tampa and stopped off at a LFS... Stuff is 30-50% cheaper than NYC prices. I even saw a green brittlestar fish who was probably (tip to tip) 8" in diameter with a body the size of a damn silver...

I felt home improvementy and decided to tap my inner man and fix thing thing proper. I bought a jack that raises up to 16,000 lbs a max of 3', I also bought new wood and elbow braces for the new support. A little sawing here, a little sanding there. Viola! After raising the tank 4", I...

Back in the game, 72g bowfront reef

I replaced the wood piece I cot out and screwed steel braces onto the sides to reinforce it. I was going to put a hinge in the there but when I noticed that the weight of it made it hard to replace the piece I took out I decided to re-brace the front with the original piece. All is well, but...

Back in the game, 72g bowfront reef

It crossed my mind that I might lose the whole thing but I've seen other set ups with only 1 center support so I felt somewhat confident I would lose the whole thing. I did notice that when I close the doors back up it was a little tighter than normal so I'm gonna have to sand the bottom of 1 of...

Back in the game, 72g bowfront reef

If 1st you don't succeed, try again. If you still fail, buy a saw. Indeed, that 20g tank refused to make it's way in there on it's own, so I was forced to do a little modification. I sawed out the middle piece of wood, installed my homemade do-it-yourself for less than $100 refugium (with...
