180 gallons up in this!!!! NWKRC!

Probably not a sand sifting star, they tend to deplete your sand of the good stuff.

And then there is always the option of adding one or two Vortechs. lol

yeah thats exactly what i was thinking.

As far as the vortechs go i have no need except for the cool toy aspect. I currently have roughly 6000 gph going through that tank! its a delicate balance to keep the sand from being a non stop storm in there. except for a few months down i was down closer to 3k because a couple powerheads got a little jacked up and i just was too lazy to fix them until yesterday when i devoted a couple hours to maintenance

yesterday was a great day! A couple of firsts for me i got my first acro and my first euphyllia too! also got a new montipora.

here is my( M. Capricornis) piece.

wish me luck! so far my only initial fear was that my koran angel may nip at the euphyllia but so far so good. (not pictured is another small piece of hammer that fell on the sand. ill have to get in there today with the super glue and get it re stuck again

good luck, sps always turn white after 3 months for me. i work to much to keep up on water quality, but i keep tons of softies. Do koran angelfish eat soft corals, really would like a large angelfish for my 125 gallon.

the only coral i have had him eat so far were zoanthids. it was rediculous! but i have all kinds of mushrooms, cabbage, finger leathers in my 180 with no problems. also have palys, not sure why those dont get eaten but who knows! yeah i kept a idaho grape monti for almost 2 years and got tons of growth out of it. so hopefully i will have luck with these 2 sps corals. time will tell.

figured id throw in a recent photo of my Koran. hes still refusing to get rid of the Juv coloration. you can see a bit of change... but not much. I cant wait till its a beautiful transformed adult.... not that it looks bad now. Its def my fav fish in my post vlamingi population.
