hello everyone, I am new to this but have had ten years of experience with pond koi.

I decided to give this a shot because a friend of mine convinced me to make use of my 20 gallon long and 10 gallon tank that's been laying around.
I'm not quite made of money but I am very interested.

I know 10 gallons is tiny for a sump. I'd like to squeeze the aqua c or bacpack skimmer on it and get the 20 gallon tank drilled.

Do i have enough room to use a 10 gallon as a sump?

Sounds like a good plan :)

Just do your measurements and make sure everything(that you want) will fit in the 10g. Its good to do a technical draw up of it to make sure you will be ok :)

and give a little leeway on ur measurements just in case ;)

The sump only has to house ur return pump, skimmer, and If you want a section for chateo (fuge section).

There's numerous ways you can do it, customize it to best fit your needs.

    Hello and Welcome!

With a tank that small i would use the sump as a fuge only, and just do regular water changes. Or i would build an algae scrubber for that space.
