Can anyone please help clarify the colony expansion of an Acan from a frag plug on the sand bed? Is the size of the colony limited to the surface area provided from the frag plug or does the colony increase from its own skeleton structure? Let’s say I have a small frag of Acan lords 2 inches or so, do I need to provide a larger structure for the coral to colonize on in the sand bed or is the coral capable of expanding its colony size from its own skeleton structure?
