adding more sand

so my tank is cycled i have 3 frags and 1 starter damsel (only till my tank matures) but ive noticed that i need more sand (i only have 20lbs inch and a half sand bed) so i want to add 10 more pounds of live sand, will doing this cause a cycle and kill my 3 frags and feather duster?

Add dry sand. It will become live in no time at all, and it won't cause a cycle.

I do suggest rising the sand very well before adding it to cut down on the dust storm.

I called my lfs and he said he only has live sand, should I just buy it? What would be the consequences?

there really isnt a consequence for using it, its just more expensive.

Try a petco or petsmart or something. Most carry dry sand. It's cheaper than most fish stores. I was at Petsmart today, picking up some puppy treats, and noticed they now carry the black/white pacific sand as well as black sand. Wish they had the mix when I started up.
