whats a good algae eater to put in the tank that doesnt require a special diet of just algae?

LOL, had to read this a couple times, I was like what? That doesn't make sense.
Anyway, there are numerous fish that eat algae, snails, crabs. What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

i know what you are talking about. if it's fish, then not really. usually the algae eating fish require an algae diet or they will get sick. and the ones that dont require special algae diets wont eat the kind of algae you would like them to eat.
