hi everyone, i am new to this site and i just recently acquired about 6 frags of various lps corals (favias, open brain, sun coral) and i got them all for 15 bucks because there was some algae on them. i just want to know the best way to get the algae off? should i wait and see if it dies off or try to scrub it?

Welcome to the site....you can try rubbing it off with a soft bristle brush. If possible you should try to quarantine them for a few days and make sure the algae doesn't come back, but if you can't do that, just place them all on your sand bed, that way, your cuc will take care of it for you and you'll be light acclimating them too. Good luck.

do you think it has done any long term damage to the coral? they are still acclimating but it has already been 4 days since ipurchased them and they are not open all the way yet.

What kind of algae is it? I wouldn't expect algae to grow on or near any live sections of LPS. Do you have any pics?
