isnt there another way of measurement not only dkh, im using a salifert alkalinity test kit i lost the instructions

i remember it saying each drop u put equals .5 keep adding drops until it becomes yellow then stop and count the drops and divide by 2 and that = the meq/l which should be around 4-6
 
You can measure it in meg/l,ppm,DKH.And I think theres another one.
But I think your right in that 4. meg/l is close to 8 DKH.

That's not how to use a Salifert alk test kit. There are no drops to count and no dividing by anything. If you need the instructions for a Salifert Alk test kit, I can scan mine for you.

And 4 meq/l = 11.2 dKH
