annoying and tough algae

Reefing newb
just wanted to get some feedback on getting rid of (or at least reducing) some of these very tough (i have a hard time scraping it with a scraper) algae on my acrylic tank. it's dark to tan green in color, starts out as circular shape and it's very hard to take them off (the maglites do not even touch them). i've decided to darken the room (closed the shades) and turn off the lights for about a day or two. any other suggestions?

i'll try to post some pics tonight.

Remove the BLADE after every use (which I don't do). The blade holder is what you superglue to the magnet, you don't remove that.

The blade will start to rust if you don't remove it then it can scratch your glass. I wouldn't use it on an acrylic tank, they do sell plastic blades for acrylic, but it still will scatch it. Acylic tanks are tough to keep corraline off of, you should clean it daily to help keep it from building up...
