I was wondering if I should be running carbon all the time, or should it just be used in certain instances? My tank is about a year old and I've never used it, just wondering if I should be. Thanks

People do both. I used it for a couple days each month, just to polish up the water. But a lot of people run it 24/7 in a reactor. It's up to you -- if you think you need it.

Nope, it won't take the good stuff out, just the bad. I change mine out every two weeks.
