birdsnest growth

overstreetlogan

living it up
i read on another site that if your nitrates are low your birdsnest will grow faster.if nitrates are high =slow growth.nitrates are high the tips will become stubby like.if nitrates are low the tips will be sharp and pointy. i was wonderering if this kinda thing is true.if anyone has ever heard of this.

SPS in general are very sencitive to trates an experienced hobbiest doesnt have to check the tank just by looks of coral stock they can tell what it need or whats wrong , say it be trates , calcium, phosphate etc

Aye, if conditions are good it will grow (hence the white tips, new growth)
If not, it will grow sloooow and you will not see much new growth.

Birdsnest are one of the easier faster growing SPS, thus being a good example/ one to learn with :)
