Blenny Color Change

So My lawnmower blenny has turned from an off white color to a deep brown. I was curious if it is due to the new goby he is trying to establish a dominance over or due to the fact I changed my background to black?

fish can change color when stressed out. Chances are it is reacting to the stress in the tank with having competition for food

They change colors depending on their mood.My Bicolor will get darker when its angry and lighter when it gets excited(feeding time).,almost looking light freckles.I doubt its the change in the background,more likely it has gotten accustom to its surroundings.

My lawnmower blenny changes colors all the time too.

Mine turns purple on rocks and white in sand... Thought I was going crazy!
