brown snail

I have a brown snail in my tank that I am not able to ID.

The body is brown. The shell is brown looks like a tear drop shape. I have only seen on my LR. The shell is flat. It has a hole on the side of the shell that
releases a small brown pellet. It has feelers like a insect. It came in on the LR.
I have looked on the internet trying to find one like it but cant. I have a pic of it but cant make it out. Will try to get a better pic to upload.

O.k. I dont know were my brain was the other day,but You said snail not a crab.
In the picture the snails are very hard to make out can you circle them or get a picture were they dont blend in.Given the discription here my new guess.Abalone

It is over

Well the hunt is over it is no longer in the tank in life form ( maybe :pooh:) . When I returned home from work the other night I seen my Sally Light Foot eating the snail. Thanks for all the help.

An article on crabs is posted in the helpful articles. should help. I do not think you are out anything, as if it were me I would have removed it anyway. watch that sally light foot as it grows it will get even more aggressive. good luck happy fishin
