i have been using oceanic reef salt for over a month and my calcium level is only 400.a new batch is right around 380.why is it so low?i thought oceanic had good levels of calcium in it?


isnt it supposed to be 480-500?

400 is the level of natural sea water

If your calciums at 400 in the tank,then dont worry about it.Shoot,even 380 aint that bad,as long you dont let it fall below that.

400 is actually good. It's pretty hard to attain Ca levels above 400 without using a reactor or 2 part dosing. At the last MARS (local reef club) meeting our speaker Tony Vargas stated that every reef he has ever been to had Ca levels of 360-380, never higher. www.vargas-reef.com for anyone who is interested in Tony's site.
